Rental Information FAQs

  • I need affordable housing. where do I start & how does it work?

The affordable housing apartments we develop and oversee have rents that are income restricted for residents. Rent prices vary per property and per county. For specifics, we suggest speaking directly to the property manager at each property - (see more on the community tab).

If you are interested in any of RCC’s communities, please visit our communities tab and contact the on-site property management staff directly to ask about availability, income requirements, Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers, and the application process. Some properties may have waiting lists due to high demand. There is also potential for limited affordable housing in your particular area.

New properties often have wait lists or lottery systems/drawings for applications. For pre-application information, visit our Communities page and contact that number or email directly.

  • I'm an individual experiencing homelessness. where and how can I get help?

If you are in California, first try dialing 211. This number will direct you to ‘211 United Way,’ where you may find help with food, transportation, mental health crises, income, health care, housing, utility assistance and much more - and you can also visit their website ‘211ca.org.’

RCC has some properties with units designated for individuals and families experiencing homelessness. You can find these on our communities tab.

For additional resources, please contact your local homeless shelters or affordable housing communities accommodating homeless individuals and families.

  • Why is the wait so long for affordable housing?

Depending on the geographical area of the housing, wait lists could be longer or shorter. Supply and demand may not match. For more detailed questions, we suggest contacting your local government or city officials.
